CryptoPunk 5364 Sold for 90ETH to Aid Ukraine Support

In a recent turn of events, Ukraine has disclosed that it sold the donated CryptoPunks virtual collectible for 90 ether, which is equivalent to more than one hundred thousand dollars. In the midst of these challenging times, it is believed that this action will serve to support the economy of the nation. Officials have said that all of the money made from the sale would be used toward funding different initiatives that are designed to enhance the standard of living of local residents. This news is likely to pique a lot of people’s interest in CryptoPunks as well as NFTs in general and for good reason.

User 0x165cd3, who acquired the artwork on March 1, 2022, was the one who contributed the CryptoPunk 5364 NFT to the Aid For Ukraine campaign. The donation was made by the user.

It took international sanctions and an escalating war for the Ukrainian government to realize the significance of cryptocurrencies, as it witnessed unbroken monetary assistance in the form of crypto and nonfungible tokens. This helped the Ukrainian government realize that cryptocurrencies are here to stay.

A Deputy Minister in Ukraine announced the Sale of the CryptoPunk

The Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Alex Bornyakov, has announced the sale of a CryptoPunks NFT for the price of ninety Ether (ETH), which was received as a donation on April 20, 2022. This is part of an ongoing effort to assist the requirements of the country’s citizens and the nation as a whole.

The CryptoPunk 5364 NFT was purchased by the user 0x165cd3 on March 1, 2022, for 16.19 ETH, which had a value of $31,722 at the time of the transaction. The user 0x165cd3 then donated this artwork to the Aid For Ukraine campaign. On April 27, shortly after the NFT was given to Ukraine as a donation, it received a buy offer for 100 ETH worth a total of $288,414; this was the highest bid that it had ever received.

On Sunday, Ukraine transacted the sale of CryptoPunk 5364 for 90 ETH, which is equivalent to $102,640. However, the purchaser, 0xc08f6d, paid a total of $103,523, which was more than enough to cover the cost of the Ethereum gas costs. The NFT is a pixelated version of male characters that is part of a larger collection called 6039 Male punks.

Countries Continue to join European Blockchain Partnership (EBP)

After Norway and Liechtenstein, Ukraine became the third nation that is not a member of the European Union to join the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP) as an observer. This happened on January 1st, 2018. As a direct result of this action, the nation intends to increase the number of nations with whom it collaborates to form an interstate blockchain network.

According to Konstantin Yarmolenko, the founder and CEO of Virtual Assets of Ukraine, Ukraine is interested in running test nodes of the EBSI and pilot use cases of the blockchain technology-based cross-border public services. Further emphasizing the significance of the cryptographic currency donations made during the Russia–Ukraine conflict, he stated: “The next step is the full integration of Ukraine and the EU onto the blockchain-based on EBP and EBSI initiatives.”
