A Brief on What Thorchain is all about

ThorChain is a decentralized liquidity network with an interoperable blockchain that enables non-custodial cross-chain token swaps. It doesn’t peg or wrap assets; instead, it lets users trade tokens between Layer 1 blockchains.

So, unlike CEXs, traders on ThorChain can transfer effortlessly from Bitcoin to Ethereum, Polkadot, and other cryptocurrencies without having to register for an exchange or go through KYC. As a result, consumers are only exposed to limited custody and counterparty risks.
ThorChain has a proof-of-stake consensus system based on Tendermint (Cosmos), with network validators (nodes) required to bond their native coin, RUNE. RUNE uses a token concept that increases in value as the network’s usage increases. This means that when more liquidity is placed into the ThorChain liquidity pools, RUNE becomes more valuable.

One of the main goals at ThorGuards is to increase THORChain and the THORChain ecosystem’s awareness and adoption. With respect to this, THORGuard announced its allocation distribution program on its official Twitter page.

What are ThorGuards?

ThorGuards is a blockchain-based collection of 9,999 NFT characters inspired by THORChain, Norse mythology, and cyberpunk aesthetics.
Each ThorGuard is a one-of-a-kind mix of hundreds of possible characteristics. The collection comprises rich and stunning 3D artwork and unique functionality and benefits across the THORChain ecosystem for each NFT bearer.

How does the ThorGuard Allocation Booster Program work?

• Hold 700 XRUNE (~$250) = +2 NFTs
• Hold 2000 XRUNE (~$700) = +4 NFTs
• Hold 17 ETH.RUNE (~$250) = +2 NFTs
• Hold 50 ETH.RUNE (~$700) = +4 NFTs

Because these allocation accelerators stack if you have 700 XRUNE and 50 ETH.RUNE, you will be able to mint a total of 11 NFTs (5 base, +2 NFTs for XRUNE, +4 NFTs for ETH.RUNE).

In an update on the 4th of November, users were told that raffle registration would be available to all wallets. All users needed was to enter the raffle with their preferred wallets.
