The New Owner has been Reached
After a con artist stole comedian Seth Green’s NFT collection and deprived him of the Bored Ape he intended to use in his forthcoming animated program, a member of the media talked to a person who claimed to be the ape’s current owner. Green had hoped to use the ape as a character in the show.
The collector with the alias feels that they “purchased it in good faith,” and he confessed that he does not have any intentions for the NFT, including not returning it to Green. He has described himself as an Australian physician with a side business.
According to a story that was published on Tuesday, the theft of NFTs belonging to Seth Green might create issues for his next series, White Horse Tavern, which would integrate characters from the actor’s huge collection of NFTs. It’s likely that Green lost his license to commercially modify the monkey after losing his Bored Ape to a phishing scam earlier this month. If true, this would make sense.
Since then, Green has been trying to negotiate the release of his monkey, which he has referred to as being “kidnapped.” This situation has developed into something of a hostage situation.
According to the data on the blockchain, Bored Ape #8398 was acquired from the anonymous scammer by a user with the alias “DarkWing84.” This user spent more than $200,000 on the NFT before moving it to a collection known as “GBE Vault.” Because the change took place within a short period of time, internet investigators were led to speculate that the two accounts belonged to the same individual. Seth Green used this information to find DarkWing84 on Twitter, but they have not been able to communicate with each other as of yet.
The New Owner has been an Avid NFT Collector
The person who claims to now own the Bored Ape is willing to talk to Seth directly about the matter. “I’ve only just woken up, yet I’ve already witnessed all of this insanity. I would appreciate it if you could put me in touch with him. This was a message allegedly sent to a media outlet on Twitter by the new owner.
The media outlet was sent information on Tuesday about a Twitter account owned by GBE Vault, which revealed the account’s owner to be the new proprietor of the Bored Ape. They were able to locate this person’s Discord history by using a tweet in which they acknowledged buying a Damien Hirst artwork named “Lascaux Gouache.” The tweet was found in the archive.
HENI, an online marketplace for art, went into great detail about this transaction, describing the buyer as an Australian physician who goes by the alias “Mr. Cheese.” Mr. Cheese has mentioned DarkWing84 quite a few times on the HENI Discord channel. To crown it all, the image that he is using as his profile photo is none other than Bored Ape #8398 which previously belonged to Seth Green. Mr Cheese confirmed the ownership to the media outlet
The New Owner has Multiple Alias and Accounts
Mr. Cheese, who tweets under the name “drwerty,” explained how he purchased NFTs using their DarkWing84 account and then move tokens with a higher value to their secondary vault. This is made possible by the transactions that take place between the Ethereum wallets that are linked with the two accounts. At the present, their cache consists of three Bored Apes, three Mutant Apes, and a CryptoPunk. “I decided to purchase it since I really loved it.”

Mr. Cheese said, “I do not have any intentions for the monkey.” “As you can see, I’ve been amassing my collection for quite some time. It appealed to me, so I decided to get it. It was not an inexpensive purchase, but there was no indication that it should be avoided, so I went ahead and made the purchase anyway. I am delighted to be in communication with Seth in order to discuss this.
The person is Open to Discussing with Seth Green.
In spite of the fact that they did not respond to Seth Green’s requests that were posted on Twitter, Mr. Cheese maintains that they do not monitor their DarkWing84 account, but they have subsequently asked that the actor direct message them. Seth Green has started following the Twitter account @drwerty used by Mr. Cheese.
Seth Green did not provide a response when asked for a statement. However, it is plainly evident from his tweets that he is prepared to take legal action in order to regain the asset in question. Seth Green tweeted on Tuesday that he would “rather see @DarkWing84 to negotiate a deal, rather than in court.”
Eric Goldman, a professor of intellectual property and technology law at Santa Clara University, recently explained that purchasers of robbed NFTs would likely be blamed for “not doing their research,” despite the fact that NFTs have only just begun to make an appearance in case law.
Despite this, Mr. Cheese seems unconcerned about anything. He said, “Haven’t really thought about it as this is all very new news to me,” when asked whether he would consider returning the NFT. “Haven’t really thought about it since this is all very new news to me.” “Are you able to put me in touch with him?”
