With the debut of QVerse, Qatar Airways has joined the metaverse.
Users of the Qatar Airways website can now virtually tour and navigate the Premium Check-in area at Hamad International Airport (HIA), the cabin interior of the airline’s aircraft, including the award-winning Business Class – Qsuite, and the Economy Class cabin, by using their own Personal Electronic Devices. Users can also virtually tour and navigate the Premium Check-in area at Doha International Airport (DOH) (PEDs).
“With physical boundaries beginning to be challenged by the metaverse on an increasingly larger scale, it is

exciting to embrace a technology that enables all travel enthusiasts to enjoy a unique immersive experience of our award-winning products and services,” said Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group. “With the metaverse beginning to challenge physical boundaries on an increasingly larger scale, it is exciting to embrace a technology that enables all travelers.”
“Our position as the first airline to offer a MetaHuman cabin crew is a monument to our unrelenting ambition to innovate and pleasure our passengers. We are thrilled to share this accomplishment with you.” We are always looking forward to adopting and launching cutting-edge technology that will make the traveling experience for our customers even more enjoyable.
Qatar Airways and NFT Integration
In the future, Qatar Airways intends to offer NFTs and allow customers to buy tickets for actual flights via the metaverse. On Tuesday, Qatar Airways made the announcement that it has released its first metaverse experience, which is known as QVerse. This platform for virtual reality enables users to visually explore and navigate the Premium Check-in area at Hamad International Airport. It is available to anybody who is interested (HIA).

However, according to claims made by the firm, QVerse is only the corporation’s first excursion into the metaverse. The corporation has said that it has plans to develop its activities pertaining to virtual environments and that it thinks that the metaverse will play a role in the future of human interactions.
We are of the opinion that the future will be virtual. The metaverse will empower human beings, broaden their perspectives, and push them beyond their bounds by questioning the most fundamental techniques that were formerly the restrictions.
The airline claims that the reason it has decided to enter the metaverse is that its customers want “immersive material that may strengthen their decision-making before purchasing a ticket, and are frequently eager to discover the aircraft they will ride.”
Qatar Airways would Rather Build its Metaverse than Invest in Others
According to statements made by officials of the firm, “that is why we think QVerse will transform the way passengers make their buying selections.”
Additionally, the business emphasized that it intends to add additional capabilities, locations, and interactions to its metaverse platform and that it intends to make the experience convivial and accessible through the Oculus Quest VR platform.
In addition to that, it plans to include in the metaverse the purchasing of tickets for actual flights as well as the selection of seats on actual planes. The corporation made notice of the possibility that in the future, activities will take place in metaverse gateways such as Decentraland and The Sandbox.
Instead of making investments in Decentraland or Sandbox right now, our attention is being directed toward the development of our own metaverse. However, we will not completely dismiss this strategy. We are continuing to investigate the many ways in which we may advance this domain and methodically include NFTs in QVerse.
In conjunction with the International Air Transport Association, Qatar Airways was the first airline in the Middle East to implement the IATA Blockchain ‘Digital Passport’ in the previous year (IATA). The United States Air Force has just stated that it would be entering the metaverse and has applied for a trademark for a project that will be known as SpaceVerse. Although there is a lack of information on the order and what the SpaceVerse is, the order emphasizes that this will be a virtual reality training, testing, and operations environment for the United States military department.
