Astronaut Speaks on The Future of NFTs

Astronaut Scott Kelly is hopeful about the potential of blockchain technology as a tool for promoting human space exploration. Kelly is a former NASA astronaut and is now serving on the International Space Station.

As celebrities, athletes, and politicians go to space, the nonfungible token (NFT) craze has gained the endorsement of an experienced astronaut who will use NFTs to document his stay in orbit after the influx of NFTs from the public.

When asked about blockchain technology and non-monetary assets in an interview, NASA astronaut Scott Kelly expressed “increasing interest” in them (NFTs). Kelly claims that he has been keeping an eye on blockchain technology for the preceding six years and has seen its potential.

It has piqued my attention more recently regarding how it may affect space exploration, which is something in which I would want to be involved,” Kelly adds. A consequence of this decision was that the astronaut wished to interact with members of the NFT community while also contributing to charitable causes.

Kelly’s Journey Depicted as NFTs

Several digital artworks depicting Kelly’s space journey are included in a new National Gallery of Art collection titled “Dreams Out of This World.” Kelly has been to more than a hundred countries during his professional life. In all, the drop earned $500,000 for the non-profit Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), which will utilize the funds to assist individuals who the Ukraine situation has impacted.

First-time GEM consumers will be able to give 100 percent of the earnings from their first purchase to humanitarian projects in Ukraine, which I am passionate about.

While Kelly expresses gratitude for the opportunity to organize an NFT collection in order to assist individuals who the crisis has touched, she also understands that there are other methods to assist those in need. Kelley expressed her gratitude for the project’s timeliness, which she said will enable her to help the people she loves in a manner that she couldn’t have done on her own in the past.

Kelly also feels that his foray into the world of NFTs would serve as a model for future aspirant astronauts in similar situations. His experiences: “Researchers believe that NFTs might give astronauts a new method to communicate their experiences rather than just posting photos and videos on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.”

Kelly’s Humanitarian Assistance to Ukraine

In order to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, a Web3 campaign named Reli3f collected $1.5 million. A percentage of the revenues from the second NFT collection will be donated to organizations that are trying to improve the situation in the Ukrainian Republic.
