What to know about Zcash
Zcash is a privacy-focused decentralized cryptocurrency. It utilizes zk-SNARK zero-knowledge proof technology, which enables network nodes to validate transactions without disclosing sensitive information. The built-in function zk-SNARKs requires a set of public parameters to generate and validate private transactions.
The Electronic Coin Company introduced Zcash on October 28, 2016. (ECC). The ECC was established by Zooko Wilcox-O’Hearn, a specialist in information security and cryptography. He created the Zcash protocol alongside academics and researchers from John Hopkins, MIT, Tel Aviv, and Technion.
In March 2017, The Zcash Foundation was established with a seed investment of 273,000 ZEC from the “Founders Reward.” The foundation is best known for organizing the Powers of Tau Ceremony, the world’s most significant multi-party computation ceremony.
Zcash Foundation plans for a new website, and the submission deadline
Zcash Foundation, the non-profit organization that handles research funding for the Zcash protocol and blockchain, has made the final call for submissions for its website redesign project. A few hours ago, the announcement was made on its official Twitter account with a submission date slated for October 18 at 6 PM UTC.
Since its launch in March 2017, the organization has maintained the current website in its daily administrative duties. However, it’s looking to rebuild its existing zfnd.org to integrate several external sites, provide a better user experience and improve its functionality and analytics.
The changes to the website include a new homepage that offers seamless navigation, a website communication tool that will foster information exchange within and outside the website. Additionally, the new website will feature a new CMS, better integration with the foundation’s marketing channels, and data analysis, among others.
Overall, the organization aims to optimize its existing website to reflect the growth of the Zcash protocol and blockchain while attracting new members and retaining old ones.
According to the Zcash Foundation website RFP, the contract will be awarded in early October and is due to be completed on or before January 7, 2022. Therefore, qualified individuals and companies are encouraged to turn in their proposals before the window closes.
Zcash market predictions and advantages
Zcash is up 5.72 percent in the past 24 hours on a $248,250,671 trading volume. CoinMarketCap now ranks it #66, with a live market capitalization of $1,720,738,195.
In general, Zcash’s tokenomics are similar to Bitcoin’s: it is a scarce mineable currency with a maximum supply limit of 21 million coins and a circulating supply of 12,885,788 ZEC coins. In addition, the Zcash network is protected by the proof-of-work SHA-256 hash function, which is part of the SHA-2 algorithm family, much like Bitcoin.
The primary advantage of Zcash is its optional anonymity, which offers a level of anonymity that is not possible with conventional, pseudonymous cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum.
