Anthony Scaramucci, the founder of SkyBridge Capital, anticipates that Bitcoin will surge to a minimum of $170,000 within the next 18 months after the halving.
Scaramucci’s Bitcoin Outlook
During a recent conversation with CNBC, the ex-White House Communications Director shared his bullish outlook on the Bitcoin market.
He highlighted that Bitcoin ETFs witnessed over $10 billion in inflows in just three months, a milestone that took Gold ETFs an entire year to reach.
Scaramucci pointed out the USD’s depreciation of nearly 22% since January 2020, contrasting it with Bitcoin’s rise of over 800%. Despite the extreme volatility, Bitcoin has provided substantial returns for long-term holders.
He perceives Bitcoin as a long-term investment rather than a short-term hedge against inflation.
Scaramucci believes that Bitcoin, as a digital asset, could achieve at least half the valuation of the gold market, potentially ending this cycle at $170,000.
Scaramucci on Sam Bankman-Fried
Scaramucci also touched on the recent sentencing of Sam Bankman-Fried. His firm, FTX, which had acquired a 30% stake in SkyBridge in September 2022, went bankrupt in November of the same year.
Scaramucci expressed disappointment for Bankman-Fried, considering his potential and mental state, yet thought the 25-year sentence was lenient. He also suggested that Bankman-Fried should have pleaded guilty before the trial.
He expressed his feelings about the impact of Bankman-Fried’s actions on his business and reputation, and the broader implications for those affected.
