About Boba Network
Boba Network is a scaling and augmenting solution for the Ethereum Layer-2 network and the successor of the OMG Network. Using the Optimistic Rollup technology, Boba Network provides various enhanced features, including swap-based onramp, swift exit, and cross-chain bridging.
The Boba Network, developed by OMG Foundation key contributor Enya and based on the publicly available, open-sourced Optimism codebase, seeks to provide the next billion Ethereum users with a quicker, cheaper, and more seamless experience.
DeFi and NFT dApps, especially micro-transactions (crucial to gaming), are now extremely costly on Ethereum. Boba Network’s goal is to make them more affordable. Boba Network can shift them to a Layer-2 to enhance transaction speeds and costs while retaining the Ethereum-based security.
Boba Network (OMG) Latest Partnership With D’CENT
Boba Network (formerly OMG Network) has announced its partnership with D’CENT, which will see users of both platforms leveraging the convenience of transacting and transferring assets on the platform.
🔥D'CENT X BOBA Network🔥
We are excited to announce #ETHEREUM L2 scaling solution #bobanetwork is now integrated with #dcentwallet!Manage and access:
✅Native currency $ETH
✅Governance Token $BOBA
✅BOBA-ERC20 Tokens
✅BOBA dApps@bobanetwork https://t.co/VJ7xaiVQON— D'CENT Wallet (@DCENTwallets) November 5, 2021
The Boba L2 is an optimistic scaling solution built on Etherium Layer 2 that improves transaction throughput, reduces gas fees, and expands the capabilities of smart contracts. Using the Boba Gateway, users can easily migrate their Etherium based assets over to the Boba network.
The latest partnership will allow D’CENT wallet users to manage the Boba network’s native currency ETH, the governance token BOBA, and any other Boba network-based assets tagged ‘BOBA-ERC20’ through the Biometric wallet and App wallet.
OMG – Boba Fusion and Prospects
Compared to other Etherem layer-two scaling alternatives like Arbitrum and Polygon, OMG Network has been deemed a dead project with little usefulness. Boba Network has taken over (fused with) the project to save the community and provide net utility.
Boba’s mainnet launched in September. Since then, it has teamed with several notable crypto projects, including DODO, Coin98, MEW, and Frax, as well as Anyswap and Sake. API3, Witnet, and Band are also on board, with D’CENT being the latest.
Those who have an OMG Network account will receive a BOBA airdrop on November 19th, 2021, reflecting the new governance structure. All OMG tokens will be replaced 1:1 with BOBA tokens during the airdrop, which will occur at the first Ethereum (L1) block with a timestamp greater than or equal to 2021/11/12 00:00 AM (UTC). During the last three months, the OMG token has surged more than 140 percent, anticipating a new name and leadership for the OMG project.
The current OMG Network price is $16.92, with a trading volume of $1,431,968,703 in the past 24 hours. OMG Network’s share price has increased 1.57% in the previous 24 hours.
